A lot of girls, I mean A LOT of girls are looking for guys who can get them whatever they want. Bags, shoes, dresses, five star restaurants, suite rooms.....
But in my case, it's different.
Today, I had a conversation with my friend (a guy) about relationships. Actually it all started from a topic of what to get for a mother's day gift. (Happy Mother's Day!) And we ended up discussing about particularly what pleases girls.
He says, "I save up money and spend them all to get gifts for my girl friend or sister". He sounds like he is a really good guy. But his ex girl friend ended up leaving him after getting a diamond ring and a diamond necklace.... I don't blame him because that was his way of showing his love for her, spending all the money he had to please her.
But, from my perspective, that doesn't make him special. Any guy with some extra money can get the same gift for her. It didn't have to be HIM, that got her the ring and the necklace.
If you are a guy and if you want to tell her that you realllllly love her, and want to make her believe that you are the only one who realllllllly care about her, you would want to set your self apart from other guys.
And Arby is really good at doing that.
Last year on my birthday, when we barely started going out, he grabbed my heart by throwing a surprise party.
When we got home after eating at a restaurant, I saw 20 guests formally dressed, my apartment so-cutely decorated (with my portrait pictures lol), my favorite ice cake made by his mother and him, and a huge poster filled with messages from my friends!
Did he ever have time to plan and prepare all this? He was a full time college student and had two jobs at that time.
He MADE time for me because he wanted to show how much he could sacrifice his favorite game time (around 11pm-2am). (And that's just my assumption)
Getting a diamond ring is quick and easy, and you can easily hide it (for surprise) with no efforts.
But going everywhere to get messages from my friends whom he hadn't even seen before and hide it from me at school was not an easy task and it took him days and days. I mean, just trying to get 20 people involved for the day and making sure everybody would follow his strict instruction can be pain in the a**.
So, it made me think...
"Arby is the only guy in this world who could do this for me".
Just by imagining how much he thought about making my birthday special by putting so much efforts, thinking, and time (of course money too) for me proved his love.
Now, he successfully set him self apart from other guys. :)
It's just one of the things he does for me and there are countless times he made me impressed by his thoughtful gifts.
I love his creativity and that's one of the reasons that I want to stick with him.
So if you are a guy and having trouble keeping a girl with you, you might wanna try thinking out of the box to make your girl happy. If not, just make enough money so that no other guy can replace you ;)
